Paint Preparation: Kickstart the project by lavishing your pine and poplar boards with a couple of coats of pure white paint. Wait for it to dry before proceeding to the cutting stage.

Side Pieces Assembly: Measure and cut the painted pine boards according to your window’s dimensions. Affix the two side pieces first, aligning them with the top and bottom of the window. Use the level to ensure they stand perfectly upright, and then secure them into place with three nails each.

Top Frame Setup: Now, nail the 1×2 poplar board across the top of the newly placed side pieces, anchoring it down into the pine for a strong bond.

Completing the Top Section: To complete the upper portion of the frame, add another pine piece across the top over the 1×2 poplar board.

Bottom Frame Finishing: The lower part of the window mirrors the top, except for the absence of one layer of 1×2 poplar board. Nail the 1×2 directly beneath the marble sill, fastening it securely from underneath into each side piece.

Seamless Integration: Use caulking to fill in any gaps, ensuring a tight seal, particularly between the marble and the 1×2, so that everything appears as one cohesive unit.

The Reveal: Step back and admire the transformation. The pine boards’ thickness should be almost flush with the marble sill, creating a harmoniously finished look.

Your laundry room’s window has just gone through a stylish metamorphosis! For less than $25, you’ve crafted a simple yet impactful upgrade that blends seamlessly with your existing interior. This DIY window frame not only adds character but truly makes the space yours.
