Let’s make a unique, jaw-dropping Halloween costume that will unquestionably have you placed center-stage. You can present yourself as a man split in half and still be able to walk around! Yes, you read correctly — a man cut in half! This distinctive costume is entirely achievable with a slight investment and creative imagination.
Man Cut In Half Costume
Materials Required
- Extra-large dress or khaki pants (preferably black)
- A large shirt, a few sizes bigger than normal (long-sleeved)
- A second shirt, short-sleeved and similar in color to the first one
- A pair of your pants that match the color of the large pants
- A belt that fits around the waist of the large pants
- A small box, similar to the waist size of the pants
- A piece of red fabric barely bigger than the box
- Your shoes, or no shoes, depending on your preferences
- A small weight, such as a fishing sinker
- A few zip ties
Tools Required
- A knife
- Glue (optional)
Step 1: Adapt the Large Pants
Start by modifying the extra-large pants. Cut a horizontal slit right behind the knee, ample enough to allow your foot and calf to pass through.
Step 2: Adapt the Large Shirt
Cut a horizontal line across the back of the long-sleeved shirt from one shoulder to the other. Ensure the opening is wide enough to fit your head and arms.
Step 3: Shape the Waist with the Box
In this step, fasten the small box inside the waist area of the large pants. Using a knife, poke two tiny holes in the belt area, about an inch apart in front, behind, and on both sides. Then, create corresponding holes in the box. Feed the zip ties through these holes to secure the box to the pants. Hiding the zip ties under a belted waist will make the pants look more realistic.
Step 4: Simulate the Gory Finish
Cover the box with the red fabric, which represents a bloody stump. Cut out slits where the zip ties are so you can tuck the fabric inside the pants. If it fails to stay, use glue to fix it.
Step 5: Utilize the Weight & Wear the Shirt
Fasten the small weight on the right bottom outside portion of the shirt. Do it by first putting on the short-sleeved shirt and your smaller pants. Then, pass your head and arms through the slit in the back of the long sleeve shirt.
Step 6: Don the Pants
Put on the large pants by slipping your feet into the slits you cut earlier. Wear shoes if you desire, but staying barefoot works just as well.
Step 7: Complete the Costume
Finally, pull up the large pants straight on your left, with the right corner tucked under your left armpit, as if casually carrying the pair. Tilt the top of your body slightly to the right to make it look like your body fills the hanging shirt. Check that the weight helps the shirt to hang forward properly.
Bravo, now you look like a man cut in half and still able to walk! This intricate illusion piece will make everyone double-take and question what they see. Enjoy the attention and eye-popping looks you’re bound to receive!
