Homemade Bacon Potato Pizza Recipe
Ingredients:
- Pizza crust
- Potatoes
- Milk
- Salt
- Bacon
- Onion
- Red pepper
- Cheddar cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Start by boiling potatoes in salted water until they are tender. Once done, drain and mash the potatoes. Add milk and salt according to your taste preference, then set aside.
Roll out your pizza crust on a 14″ pizza pan. To prevent it from bubbling up, prick the crust all over with a fork. Bake at 350°F (around 177°C) for about 15 minutes or until it’s just starting to brown.
While the crust is pre-baking, partially cook the bacon in a medium-hot skillet. You’ll want to drain off almost all the bacon fat, leaving about a tablespoon in the skillet for the vegetables. To this, add the onion and red pepper, cooking until the bacon is crisp and the vegetables are tender. Make sure to drain this mixture really well to avoid a soggy pizza.
Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the pre-baked crust. Next, lay the bacon and vegetable mixture over the mashed potatoes. Finally, top everything with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Increase the oven temperature to 375°F (around 190°C) and bake the pizza for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is nicely melted and begins to bubble.
Enjoy your Bacon Potato Pizza – it’s a hearty and delicious twist on the traditional pizza and a fantastic way to use up leftover mashed potatoes!
