  • 3.5 mm glutinous rice yarn (100g/skein): 3 skeins red, 1 skein white
  • 4.5 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors

Pattern Instructions


Part 1: Snowman Piece (4 rounds main body, 3 rounds pattern)

Round 1

  • Chain 2 (not counted as stitch), 12 double crochet (dc) stitches into a circle.
  • Tighten the loop and slip stitch (sl st) to the first dc.

Round 2

  • Chain 2 (counts as first dc).
  • 2 double crochet in each stitch around – total 24 dc.
  • Sl st to first dc.

  • 1 dc in first stitch, 2 dc in next stitch repeat around – total 36 dc.
  • Sl st to first dc.

Round 4

  • Chain 1.
  • 1 single crochet (sc), 2 sc in next stitch, 1 sc repeat 12 times – 48 sc.
  • Cut yarn at end.

Round 5 (Snowman red body)

  • Switch to red yarn. Chain 2.
  • 3 dc in a row, 2 dc in next stitch repeat 12 times – total 60 dc.
  • Sl st to first dc.

  • Chain 1;
  • Crochet 6 sc in a row.
  • Crochet 3 dc in a row.
  • Crochet 2 treble crochets (tr) in the next stitch.

Part 2: Hat Part

Row 1

  • Chain 9 stitches, turn.
  • Starting at second last stitch, crochet 8 sc in a row.

Row 2 (Switch to blue yarn)

  • Chain 1, turn.
  • Crochet 2-to-1 stitches on first and second stitches (decreasing),
  • Then 4 sc,
  • Another 2-to-1 stitch on other side.
  • Repeat as row base.

Rows 3 & 4

  • Chain 1, turn, repeat 2-to-1 stitches decrease on ends with sc stitches in-between.

Row 5

  • Chain 1, turn, crochet 2-chain then sl st to finish.
  • Cut yarn.

Part 3: Nose Part

  • Use 8 strands of orange yarn.
  • Chain 4 stitches.
  • From second last stitch, crochet sl st, sc, half double crochet (hdc).
  • Chain 2, sl st back on first chain stitch.
  • Cut yarn, hide ends.

Part 4: Scarf & Accessories

  • Crochet a chain and tie a knot to make a scarf.
  • Use hot glue to fix nose, scarf, and pom-pom on hat.
  • Sew mouth & eyes using black yarn.

Part 5: Snowflake Piece

Round 1

  • Circular cast-on, chain 2.
  • Crochet 16 dc around the circle.
  • Switch to red yarn.

Round 2

  • Crochet 6 chains (1 dc + 3 chain stitches) skip next stitch, dc, 3 chains*.
  • Repeat for 8 sets.

Round 3

Round 6

  • Chain 2, dc on sc and open spaces.
  • Maintain crochet of 2 dc in chain spaces and regular dc on stitches.
  • End round by slip stitch to first stitch.

Round 7

  • Chain 2, crochet 1 dc per stitch, 4 dc at corners in round.
